Bowling For Columbine
As a second amendment rights, Charlton Heston, bashing documentary "Bowling For Columbine" has no "hidden" agenda. Near the opening of the film a banker is interviewed for allegedly giving out guns for opening a certain type of bank account. The film edits the questions to non-corresponding answers from the bank teller making her look like a complete idiot.
The film examines the causes of violence and the justification of it. The premise of the documentary is that violent media does not encourage violent behavior. While the theory that violent media does not encourage violent behavior is presented in the film it is also unintentionally negated. The film points out the big problem of violence in racial stereotyping in TV and movies and how that has shaped the way the culture acts. So media is responsible for how people act as far as violence in racial stereotyping but in no possible way does violent media encourage violent behavior.
Although this film had its share of negative elements it did have a positive element in the condemning of wrong stereotyping in entertainment.
