FACING THE GIANTS
Facing The Giants was really the first Christian movie (excluding The Passion) to really breakaway in theaters. Other 'Christian' movies have been reasonably well done, but couldn't get a foothold in theaters. However, Facing The Giants is not the story of rich Hollywood producers out to get 'Passion money', rather, it's the story of a Georgia Baptist church with a heart to reach people for Jesus Christ.
There were a few technical things that could have been stronger. In a few places, the acting could have been better as well. Overall, I thought it was one of the best films I have ever seen. The heartfelt honesty of 'Giants' pierces the emotional boundaries that few films are capable of crossing successfully.
Not too many films produced theses days have stories. Facing The Giants was very different, it was real. We all face 'giants' like Coach Taylor. We are all tempted to give up, but by God's grace, we all can overcome. The unforgettable message and story of Facing The Giants sets it apart from the film norm and will be a favorite for many years to come.
